Project Description

 

For my technology plan, I developed a hypothetical educational technology plan for the Stroudsburg Area School District in Pennsylvania. I referenced the Educational Technology Reports of the Stroudsburg Area School District from 2009 and 2011 while I created my technology plan. There were eight phases I completed in my technology plan, which were: prepare to plan; build communications; assess current status; identify strategic goals and objectives; create action steps for objectives; action plan development; fiscal analysis and budget; and plan review and evaluation. Some of the main purposes of this assignment were to build an understanding of a technology plan, what goes into creating and developing one, and the budget for a technology plan.

 

Demonstrates Mastery

 

The technology plan demonstrates mastery of outcome seven since I was able to articulate a vision for instructional technology that incorporated many different policy areas throughout my planning and completion of each phase of my technology plan.

 

Benefits

 

This technology plan could be beneficial to the Stroudsburg Area School District, especially since I had some different ideas than what was in their 2009 and 2011 Educational Technology Reports. This project was mainly beneficial to me. This project helped me realize how much work goes into creating a technology plan as well as the amount of people involved in creating and carrying out a technology plan. Through developing a technology plan I have learned how there are many, many things to consider when creating a technology plan. It is important to have a plan when implementing and integrating technology.
